Linda's
family has endured her quilting obsession for the past 20 years. Linda
loves all aspects of the quilt world but has gravitated to art
quilting in the past few years. She teaches fabric painting, raw-edge appliqué, and other classes at Artistic Artifacts Annex in
Alexandria, VA. She is also available for
lectures, workshops, and
commission work.
She developed her style of
Broderie-Perse machine appliqué quilts after classes with Phil Beaver,
Laura Cater-Woods and Judy House. Her work continues to evolve as she
further explores fabric painting and other surface design techniques.
Among her accomplishments:
-
"Fading Memories" is currently
traveling with Ami Simms' "Alzheimer's: Forgetting Piece by Piece"
exhibit.
-
"Extreme Makeover" is on
permanent display at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
-
"My Bloomin' Spiral" is included
in RaNae Merrill's 2008 book, Simply Amazing Spiral Quilts.
