About the Artist

Linda's family has endured her quilting obsession for the past 20 years. Linda loves all aspects of the quilt world but has gravitated to art quilting in the past few years. She teaches fabric painting, raw-edge appliqué, and other classes at Artistic Artifacts Annex in Alexandria, VA, and the Quilt Patch in Fairfax, VA. She is also available for lectures, workshops, and commission work.

She developed her style of Broderie-Perse machine appliqué quilts after classes with Phil Beaver, Laura Cater-Woods and Judy House. Her work continues to evolve as she further explores fabric painting and other surface design techniques.

Among her accomplishments:

  • "Fading Memories" has finished traveling and has been donated to Ami Simms' Alzheimer Art Quilt Initiative Group for auction or sale. Through her organization, Ami Simms has already raised over $500,000 for research into this horrible disease.

  • "Extreme Makeover" is on permanent display at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

  • "When Fish Party" was awarded an honorable mention at Loudoun County's Franklin Farm Art Center's "Out of the Ordinary" exhibit.

  • "My Bloomin' Spiral" is included in RaNae Merrill's 2008 book, Simply Amazing Spiral Quilts.

  • "Mandalilies" is included in RaNae Merrill's 2010 book, Magnificent Spiral Mandala Quilts.
